Spine: Noticeable vertical cracking present. Signs of fading gold line ribbing. Spine Lettering and Label: Black title ribbon present. Gold lettering present. Large type font for label. Vertical crack between OO and OR in title letters. Cover: Marbled cover. Inward bend/rubbing at outside cover. Binding: Spine/Cover hinging in tact. One front end paper. Latin text bookplate sticker on front pastedown and Vollersten bookplate sticker on back pastedown. Title Page: Present, no markings. Unique cockling, triangular at bottom, connected at top. Text: full text, library catalog numbers in pencil on copyright page verso. Cockling present on subsequent pages. Inscription: Front end paper recto in pencil “I will go to my tent(SP..illegible)”. Front end paper verso: Unknown signature in ink. Notes: Donor family: Arthur Vollersten (1910-1983) is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, his wife Dorothy 1910-2007 rests at the same site. |
